It’s been revealed that we are standing on a planet that ‘a-changin’,

Changin’ at a pace we can’t sustain.
Carbon levels now more than four hundred ppm,
The artic only just about remains.

NASA, you and me and many scientists agree,
That we must limit global warming where we can.

The limit, one point five or we will struggle to survive.

So, I think it’s time that we must make a plan.

Now with two degrees or more, we don’t know what’s in store,

But we do know that the sea will rise today.
Millimetres every year, not much, but we should fear
The ice upon the south melting away.

If it’s three we’re in a mess, if it’s four I must confess,

That I think the human race will bear the brunt.

And the plastic in the world there is so much eight billion tonnes

And six of those we now have thrown away.
The fossil fuels we’ve used, they’ve all gone up in smoke
And now we find the earth has had to pay.

Nitrous oxide in the air along with methane, can we bear

To stop consuming everything we can.
To rarely take a flight, not eat meat, use a bike,

Because the animals and birds and all the creatures in the sea,

You see they are the ones who have to fear.
Coral, half as much, as humans double-up
And that’s just the last fifty years.

The rain forests are stripped for palm oil then it’s shipped,

Around the world to make the things we eat.
We love to eat those snacks, while we ignore that facts.

Now it’s said we can survive, if all the people compromise

And decide to only have their equal share.
There are many folks around, almost eight billion at last count,
